The purpose of this project is to explore the relationship between form and function. The goal was to demonstrate that beauty combines the visual aesthetic with the expression of function and requirement. We were tasked tp transform an existing bridge into a structure that allows water traffic to past through a 30’ x 40’ opening.

Movement Analogies
This project helped me understand the method of idea formation since we analyzed the movement of objects in our house. We made different combinations that essentially turned into our bridges opening.

Transformation process
I used a wine bottle opener as the movement for my bridge. While reconstructing I decide to put the mechanism of a wine bottle opener on the top of the bridge resulting in a swift movement up and down.
